Rushing the stage for their serenading encore, the soft-pawed trio, complete their fearless adventures in 2015 with SUPERSWEET x moumi: The Weird and The Wonderful.

Spanish four-piece, Hinds inspire, soundtrack and epitomise the soul of The Weird and The Wonderful. Headliners for SUPERSWEET x moumi’s Concept Store launch and models for this A/W 2015-16 collection, Hinds invite you to explore your style imagination with The Weird and The Wonderful and find your own unique path – or as they gloriously declare in their motto “nuestras mierdas, nuestras reglas – Our shit, our rules.”

The Weird and The Wonderful continues SUPERSWEET x moumi’s voyage into modernising distinct 1970s design, with fantastic feline prowess. The premium Purrple Label delightfully returns, maturing the Bang! Bang! bohemian silhouettes into structured pieces and footwear. This fall, The Weird and The Wonderful also pays homage to a pioneer of optical illusions the 1930s movie director, Busby Berkley.

 

Pouncing from illustration into an exploration of photographic graphics, the cat-trio designs each piece in the theme of Berkley’s ‘parade of faces’ technique. The graceful feline forms morph into hypnotic spirals and digital lined prints to envelop the wearer in limitless illusions. Aligned to the imaginative quirks of the Purrple Label line, the psychedelic printed fabrics differ from piece to piece, where some crafty styles possess reversible patterns. The color palette of the brand also takes a muted turn this fall, with denim hues, soft-pastels and earthy tones.

To celebrate the brilliant diaspora of 70’s style, the Purrple Label line features a textured sprawl of double-denim collared jackets and vests, scalloped edged skirts and shorts, tailored mod and maxi dresses, billowing bottoms, and tie-back kimonos. Whether reviving the Canadian tuxedo or embracing the shirt neckline, each piece features diverse detail and hand-finished embellishments, including frayed collars, tulle frills or bow-tied backs.

This A/W 2015-16, the Abyssinian blue collaborates with new-found and lasting friends for one-off pieces. The Purrple Label line satiates its foot-fetish from an exciting collaboration with top Thai footwear brand, Croon to deliver Frill Seeker booties, Frilly T-Bars and the masterpiece cuffed ankle boots with detachable, pastel tulle veils. Marc Smollin, long-term artistic love of moumi, also contributes his cozy designs with Winter Woolenland, a one-off line boasting vibrantly colored knitted beanie hats.From the launch of a brick-and-mortar concept store, to birth of the Purrple Label, moumi, Myogi and Kikilala, are thrilled to return and cherish their new and devoted fans. The Weird and The Wonderful is a collection rewarding the malcontents who dare to roam free from the pack, and discover the simplicity of exploring soulful shapes, styles and melody.
